Join Troop 2970

Step 1: Visit a Troop Meeting

We invite you to attend one of our weekly meetings to see what Scouting is all about. No commitment is necessary for your first visit.

When: Thursdays, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Where: Our Saviours Way Lutheran Church, Ashburn, VA

Step 2: Register with BSA

To register with the Boy Scouts of America and Troop 2970, please follow these instructions:

1. Go to https://www.scouting.org/
2. Scroll down to the field labeled "ZIP Code", enter your ZIP code, and click "Find Scouting Near You"
3. Under the "Filter Results By" section, ensure only the "Scouts BSA" box is checked, then click "Show Results"
4. Once the results are displayed, Troop 2970 should be listed within the first five or so
5. Find Troop 2970 (Boys Troop or Girls Troop - your choice), click the "APPLY NOW" button
6. Click "Start" under "Youth" or "Adult" (as applicable)
7. At this point, you can begin entering your information and submit the application

Step 3: Get Your Uniform and Handbook

After registering, you'll need to purchase a Scout uniform and handbook. These can be found at:

Step 4: Attend New Scout Orientation

Once registered, you'll be invited to a new Scout orientation where you'll learn more about the troop, our activities, and what to expect as a new Scout.
